You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you. Psalm 128:2

God’s blessings come from eating the fruit of our labor and hands. Finding joy in trials and hard work can fulfill God’s purpose for our life. What is God’s purpose in your life?

God Wants You to be Blessed for Your Work

I wanted to choose a verse for my blog that represented how God is our provider and how he blesses and rewards us. Our family has definitely been through our share of trials, but the most recent being a layoff. We had to stop and re-evaluate our priorities not just financially, but spiritually. God blesses us from working hard, even in trials. We not always see the blessings in difficult circumstances. But God always has a purpose for what we are going through and to be blessed. It’s also seeing the results of years following God’s plan and purpose for you. Maybe it was to pay pay off debt, raise children, sacrificing two incomes two incomes to homeschool or build a home. That is seeing the fruit of your labor and enjoying the reward.

Find joy in trials. Don’t despise the trial. God is working in you for His purpose. (Phil 2:13).

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
    who walks in his ways!
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
    you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
    within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
    around your table.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
    who fears the Lord.
